Criteria of Surrogate Mother
- Ages 21-40.
- Non-smoker, non-alcoholic and non-drug abuser.
- Body Mass Index (BMI) under 32. BMI is calculated by dividing body weight in kilograms by height in meters squared. Normal range is 20-25 kg/m2.
- Maintaining a healthy body and good mental health.
- Stable environment and good support system from family or significant others.
- Having given birth at least one healthy baby without complications.
- Status of U.S. Citizen or Permanent Residency.
- Committing to complete surrogacy process.
All applicants will be interviewed by a physician and psychologist. Applicants are also subject to drug testing and disease screenings, including sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs), genetic illnesses and psychological disorders.
Surrogacy Process
Application
In order to qualify as a surrogate mother, you must meet the general surrogate criteria and complete the surrogacy application. After careful review, you will be notified to schedule an appointment for an interview.
Interview
During your interview, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. Our experienced staff member will provide you thorough answers to your questions. The process of surrogacy will be explained so that you know exactly what to follow and expect.
Medical Screenings
Surrogate candidate will be sent to an infertility center that intended parents prefer to for thorough physical examination, drug screenings, transmitted disease tests. Additional tests may be required by the order of a physician from infertility center.
Psychological Screenings
Surrogate candidates will be analyzed by a trained psychologist specializing in surrogacy consultation. The psychologist will ensure that you fully understand the surrogacy process and will confirm that you are prepared well for surrogacy emotionally and mentally. If you have any further questions, the psychologist can assist you.
Matching
After passing the interview and screenings, the US Conceptions (USCs) Agency will create a profile for you. With your profile, we will find intended parents that are the most compatible with you. If both parties are mutually interested, we can schedule a meet-and-greet so that both parties can get to know with each other.
Contract
After screenings are completed and within normal limits, and we find the right match; the intended parents’ attorney will prepare a legally binding contract that entails your responsibilities. You will be provided with an attorney to review the contract and explain any questions that you may have.
Embryo Transfer
The embryo transfer is a very important procedure! A quick and painless process that takes less then 50 seconds or even only 30 seconds or less, but the total embryo transfer is approximately 15 minutes including pre-transfer preparation, education and vaginal cleansing. You will be under the care of IVF procedure for the next 10 to 12 weeks during a successful pregnancy. Afterwards, you will be released to an obstetrician of your choice, or we can recommend a reliable obstetrician for you. The US Conceptions (USCs) congratulates your great success!
